For my girls cheese is the best! They like it when I make shapes out of cheese.
I’m really new with Bento lunches, but our favorite food to put into our meals is simple sandwiches. Sometimes I cut them into small cubes.
I love using rice and making it into fun shapes!
Rice is an absolute must for me but my favorite thing to use is egg. More specifically I like to make either shaped hard boiled eggs or sweet tamagoyaki. I love the texture of tamagoyaki and its just so tasty!
I love using strawberries in the bento boxes I make for the kids lunches. I cut the tops off so they look like hearts & then I use the little spears through the strawberry & attach a note to it to express how much they are loved.
Babybel Cheese cut into cute shapes or faces
For my daughter- apples and PB & J sandwiches.
For myself- lots of rice, edemame, baby carrots
Rice and seaweed to make riceball with expression
Making shapes out of cheese!
Rice! You can make all sorts of neat little shapes with it.
Rice! with a little seaweed of course, it makes such cute faces
We love our alphabet fondant cutters for making messages in our daughter’s lunches.
Mango! It adds color and life to a boring salad! Cutting it in very thin slices or cubes! And a vinagrette dressing! yum!
I like to use sandwich meat… I cut it up in fun shapes and the kid LOVE to see what shapes they get for lunch.
My kids love shaped boiled eggs! I usually boil them, let them cool & then peel & reheat in hot water before putting them in the mold. Sometimes, I add colour, other times I leave them white.
I love using fruits of all sorts since I’m making adult bentos and don’t want to go too cutesy just for myself. They can add color and a brightness that nothing else can.
I love to use hard boiled eggs in ours and i love the orange!!!
I love using rice made into different shapes and sometimes colors. It’s my daughter’s favorite part of her lunch!
I love playing with cheese and bread shapes!
my daughter would love this
I havent made bento yet, but it would have to be boiled eggs. My little girl loves boiled eggs
My fav ingredient to use in a bento is rice because it can be shaped, coloured, topped, flavoured and so much more plus the added bonus it is so tasty and nutritious!
I haven’t made bento yet, but my sign loves pizza, chicken nuggets and pb&j so it would be one of these!
it would be cheese, havent used bento before but yes, definately cheese and maybe bread
I love my egg molds and the tiny metal picks. My daughter loves how cute everything looks when I make my lunches and ends up eating my lunch for breakfast.
My fave ingredient to use in a bento are grilled or stewed vegetables- broccoli, baby carrots, aubergine, avocado and on top melted cheese- or shaped ones, yummm!
I love to have rice into fun shapes and my son loves to eat the teriyaki chicken!
My favourite ingredient to use when making bentos is usually flatbread meat and cheese sandwiches, rolled, cut up and then held together with food picks. They’re fast and filling. Other than that, salad or boiled eggs.
My fav ingredient is egg, used to do some tamagoyaki and make cute decorations/food in my bento!
I love fresh fruit for a small bento and egg and meat slices for a big lunch!
